Lesson 22 | Food, eating and meals in Swedish I
Hej mina vänner, välkomna tillbaka! I have made a list of several phrases connected with food and eating. Sit back, relax and enjoy your lesson.
Food and eating
We have all been there, hungry and angry. There is no happy place without good food. This lesson is going to help us fight with the hunger. Let the hunger games begin.
I am going to serve the phrases that may come in handy:
JAG MÅSTE HA NÅGOT ATT ÄTA.
I NEED TO HAVE SOMETHING TO EAT.
JAG MÅSTE ÄTTA NÅGOT.
I NEED TO EAT SOMETHING.
OK, we need to find a place where one can ingest some delicious meal.
KÄNNER DU TILL NÅGON BRA RESTAURANG I NÄRHETEN?
DO YOU KNOW A GOOD RESTAURANT NEARBY?
We are finally here but what would you like to eat?
VAD SKULLE DU VILJA HA?
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE?
Interesting question, isn’t it? Since everybody wants to eat something yummy. This could be translated as follows: Alla vill äta mumsigt.
JAG SKULLE VILJA HA MENYN, TACK.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE MENU, PLEASE.
Take it easy, I know that you are thirsty and want something to drink. This question may be useful: vill du ha något att dricka/would you like to have somtehing to drink?
You may have ett glas/a glass of:
– vatten — water
– öl — beer
– vin — wine
– mjölk — milk
– saft — juice
– flädersaft (which I like the most) — elderberry juice
There are many words and phrases that can be connected with eating and food and we are not able to cover it all within one lesson. Hence I am going to add some more lessons about food soon. Let me add more phrases for you now.

MAY I GET ONE MORE?
KAN JAG FÅ LITE …?
CAN I HAVE SOME …?

DID IT TASTE GOOD?
HUR SMAKAR DET?
HOW DOES IT TASTE?
DET VAR JÄTTE GOTT.
IT WAS REALLY GOOD.
VAD ÅT DU?
WHAT DID YOU EAT?
I WILL PAY.
I would say that it is enough for today. Because I am getting hungry again/jag börjar bli hungrig igen. As stated before, I am going to add more lessons about food soon. Stay connected. Vi ses snart!
